Comments from our Classmates:

Congratulations!!!

Great success.. You all did a marvelouse job. Scott you were very entertaining. Cindy your team mates made the star of the evening.

I tried very hard to talk as many as I could but was overwhelmed. So if I did get talk to you or say "thank you for all the hard work". This is my chance.

What's next?

First of all I must tell you that the update of the web page is so good.
What a great job you did on the whole page.
Again I have to say what a great time I had.  I'm still talking about it.  I just wished we had more time to talk to everyone.  The night went so fast.  I would love to get together and catch up.
I'll talk to you soon. Take care
Michele

Just wanted to thank you and all of the committee................Saturday was a wonderful night.  I wish we had more time, as I started saying my goodbyes, I talked to ten more people on the way out that I had not had a chance to talk to during the night.  You all did an outstanding job. It was great reconnecting....especially with my fellow grade school students!!!
Can't wait for the next one, lol!

I JUST WANTED TO SAY, MAY 2ND 2009, WAS AN EVENING TO REMEMBER,FOREVER. I WAS PROUD TO BE A PART OF THE COMMITTEE THAT PRODUCED THIS WONDERFUL EVENING.
I ALSO ENJOYED ENTERTAINING YOU GUYS, YOU WERE A GREAT AUDIENCE.
BUT THE FUTURE OF 1974 IS IN YOUR HANDS.
MY THOUGHTS ARE TO STAY TOGETHER FROM HERE ON IN.
DON'T LOSE CONTACT.
STAY IN TOUCH WITH YOUR FRIENDS.
STAY IN TOUCH WITH OUR CLASS.
CONTACT CLASSMATES WHO DID NOT COME TO THIS REUNION AND TELL THEM WE WILL HAVE ANOTHER.
THERE WAS NOTHING BUT LOVE AND HAPPINESS IN THAT ROOM ON MAY 2ND. YOU CAN'T BUY THAT. IT DOES NOT COME OFTEN.
THERE IS A REASON.
THERE IS A REASON WE ALL CAME TOGETHER THAT NIGHT.
LETS DO IT AGAIN
LOVE YOU GUYS AND SEE YA SOON.

SCOTT PIOLI

Yes Scott, the committee may have planned the event, but the classmates made it a party! It was wonderful to see everyone and I wish I had more time to spend with people. I know some people were there but I never did get the chance to speak with them or even say Hi. It was a wondeful magical evening, almost like a prom. Stay in touch, keep in touch. Lots of love to everyone.

Cindy

So true. It was so great to see everyone, more like family. Nothing like old friends, unconditional love. Let's stay in touch, there is a reason, absolutely.

Yes. There has to be another FLHS Class of 1974 "Love fest" in the future. We certainly didn't get enough time to spend with each other. It was a family reunion...so much unconditional love there that night. It was a fantastic feeling.

The ones that didn't make it were certainly missed. Maybe it was because of fnancial, health, business, family, or emotional reasons, but it's up to all of us to reach out to them and let them know that they are part of our family and we care. Next time...we should set our attendance goal higher.

p.s. I loved hugging you all!

WOW! What a great job you guys did. I, and everyone I spoke with, really enjoyed the night. I have thought about all of my classmates, at one time or another, throughout the years; usually when I hear a 70's song in the car or from a jukebox. The people I was lucky enough to speak to that night filled my head with wonderful memories. That feeling of closeness was still there for me. Thank you and the committee again for your "labor of love". I am proud to be a member of the class of 74!

Love,
Sharon

I would like to express my appreciation to all the great people who made this reunion a success. This includes our classmates, their significant others, the teachers, our sponsors, and the management and staff of the Clinton Inn.  A special "thank you" to all my fellow committee members--Cindy, Alba, Yolanda, Barbara, Tom and Scott.  I could not ask for a better group of people to work with.  And an extra special "Grazie" to our Master of Ceremonies, Scott Pioli, who we never got a chance to publicly thank at the reunion. (It's too bad, Scott, that you still couldn't convince Dave D. and Danny V. to shut up!).

It was great attending the FLHS Tour and Reunion...
All the work the committee did, made for a very successful week-end..
The evening festivities @ the Clinton Inn were allot of fun,
and it was great to reminisce with our former class-mates..
I've attached a few photo's and will forward more with next e-mail..  (Photos were posted on Facebook)

Thanx again !, Best regards, Michael Lionetto

Ditto!  Great job!  Thanks again!  -Cesare

Brian,
The reunion was like picking up where we left off--the memories, the humor, etc. Francine is right about your letter. Your letter captured the existential truths of where we all are today--the passage of time, the fragility of life, and our common bond from the years we shared as students in Fort Lee. We had a good time , yet it was sad to see some of our classmates are struggling with serious physical or mental issues. Life is indeed fragile, yet everyone I spoke with had a positive attitude and good will towards each other

Scott,

I didn’t want another day to go by without telling you how I felt about your performance on Saturday.  You were magnificent!  I was so proud that you were on the committee because nobody else could have done what you did.  Not only did you handle the logistics; the restaurant negotiations and liaison, the DJ, the balloons, etc….you were the perfect Master of Ceremonies!

Watching you up there at the microphone was so much fun.  You are a true professional.  You have a great sense of humor and know how to handle a crowd.  My greatest regret is running out of batteries on my camcorder after the FLHS tour and not having filmed the reunion.  When we do this again, it must be recorded.  I hope somebody took a photo of you.  That’s another regret that I have.

You had me mesmerized and sometimes it felt like we were back at school again and you were our substitute teacher, trying to control the rowdy kids in the class. You made the whole evening fun and were definitely part of the “magic” that we felt.

It was such a pleasure working with you on this project.  I hope we can do it again.

I just wanted to say thank you and to all involved for making the reunion possible.  I also may need to apologize for I honestly do not remember if I met up with you Saturday night, as with others.  Given the loudness and warm atmosphere, I felt a little aloof at times, but I did really enjoy being there, just so you know.

Anyway, if there is anything else that needs to be said from me, please let me know.

Thanks so much!

Dear Alba,  I would like to thank all of the committee but a special hug to you and Jerry.  Without the two of you staying with me and not only giving me the confidence to go but along with Dave DeSavino saying you'd be there for me if I felt uncomfortable.  2 thing's: I felt welcome by all my classmates and to be put in with D.D. may not mean much to many people but to me it means you are a.1. I would also like to give special thank's to Marla for the photo. Also steve h. luanne a,big pat, scott.p dave.d and Sharon L.(i'll still be looking whenever I get the chance) smile!  In ending thank's to all 155 of you, You all made me feel I was finally home, even though I never really left for more then a few year's. Also I heard from alot of you that I gave the wrong email and cell # yes i can be forgetful S.oh those are not the word's you used but to say them here is not the place.but I do like the straight talk (smile). The right email is danviola47@yahoo.com and #201 218 6958   I'd like to hear from all especially a certain few - they know who. Once again thank's to you all for a great weekend.  Looking forward for some answers also   I hope everyone who flew in returned home safely.

Daniel Viola C.U.all soon god willing until then be good I know I will (smile)

Unbelievable. It was a night that will be talked about for ever.Certain things in life you remember, some you forget but being with old friends at the reunion talking about things you did with them back in Elementary, Middle School and High School well it kind of made me feel like i was back in time. For one thing who couldn't forget lunch room in Middle School before our class there was quiet time for the last 5 minutes WE changed that. And that rat bastard Lauracella, I think he hated us, well maybe not all of you but me for sure because he was from Cliffside. The night flew by. I think if they didn't ask us to leave some of us would still be there. And thank those who came from far away and sorry for the ones that didn't or couldn't come. Growing up in Fort Lee for me was a great time, my parents were born there and so were my children. Talking to Frank Massaro he told me our 6th. grade teacher from # 3 school Mrs. Guarnasia just retired two years ago, I would have walked into a burning building for her. I could go on forever. So that night May 2, 2009 thanks to some great people like you Alba,Scott,Cindy,Yolanda,Jerry,Tom and Barbara put together a night to be remembered and will only add to the memories I have of growing up in FORT LEE. Go ORANGE AND BLACK.

Yours truly, Michael DeCarlo

One of the first things I did when I got back to the office in Switzerland was log on to the web-site to see if anything was posted on the reunion.  I was happy to see people already writing in to you thanking you and the team  for putting together this wonderful evening.  It was special and I will remember it forever.

Thank you,

Richard  Laube

Just a quick note of thanks to you and all people who put this great night together. Seeing so many of our classmates together again one more time will be night that I will remember forever. All the excitement, energy and smiles were all over the room.  The only regret that I had that night was the night ended to quickly, it was a blink of an eye. I know for myself, I wish it could of lasted longer.  Thank You for bringing such good memories to my life. I am sure I can answer for many, the night was "Priceless".

I am sorry I did not know you very well in school, but I can promise you today, I will always remember you.

All the best to you, and your SEVEN kids, LOL, I know, you only have one.

Hi Cindy:
Just wanted to thank you as well. It was a great time and I look forward to the next one. I’m glad to hear we won’t have to wait another 15 years. Please also thank Alba, Tom, Jerry and anyone on the reunion staff that I may have left out.

It is amazing how time flies when you’re having fun. It only seems like a couple of months, not a couple of years, since you first started contacting us about the reunion. Here we are talking about the next one.

Thanks again and see you next time.

To My Fellow Classmates:

First we all need to give a special thanks to the reunion committee.  Alba, Jerry, Barbara, Scott, Cindy, Yolanda, and Tom you have our sincere and deep gratitude for the wonderful party put together celebrating the 35th anniversary of the "Class of 1974".  Although the 20 year reunion was great the 35th was beyond any expectations.  What a lucky and blessed group we are to have so many friendly people in one class.  Looking around one could only see the laughter and joy everyone was sharing.  The first sight of a familiar face, the immediate smile, and a hug or embrace.  Not just an embrace of an old friend but also an embrace of the past.  For just a few hours that night we were all back in high school.  It was magic.  So many people with an arm around another or in a full body hug.  I think no one wanted to physically let go of holding each other.  No one wanted to let that moment and feeling of celebrating the past slip by yet again.  It was what bound us as human beings.  The large crowd made it difficult to spend the amount of time most would have wanted with all their old friends.  Some of us surely even missed seeing each other entirely.  Probably over 99% of what we did and spoke about to each other while growing up is lost somewhere in our memory but being in the "Class of 1974" is the cement that will forever bond us all together.  As we have gotten older the realization that the people we spent those precious 6 hours with, most of whom we have not seen or spoken to in years, truly did have some impact on shaping our lives.  Of the many stories told that night some left you with the realization that either "I never knew that person felt that way" or "I never knew I had left an important impression on that person".  What an uplifting event we shared that Saturday night.  With the daily use of the internet many of us will surely re-connect .  And once again to the committee,  "Thank you so much"
